Huskers Win 4-2 in 10 Innings

Nebraska Comeback Secures Victory

No. 5 Nebraska rallied from a 2-0 deficit to defeat No. 9 Creighton 4-2 in 10 innings on Tuesday night at Hawks Field.

The Huskers (13-4) trailed 2-0 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning, but Jaxon Hallmark led off with a single and Bryce Mathews followed with a double to put runners on second and third.

After a strikeout, Luke Roskam singled to right field to drive in Hallmark and Mathews and tie the game at 2-2.

The game remained tied until the bottom of the 10th inning, when Hallmark led off with a double and moved to third on a groundout.

Mathews then singled to drive in Hallmark and give Nebraska a 3-2 lead.

After a walk to Roskam, Colby Gomes singled to score Mathews and give Nebraska a 4-2 lead.

Nebraska reliever Tyler Martin (2-0) pitched the final 3.1 innings, allowing one hit and striking out four batters to earn the win.

Creighton starter Aidan Anderson (1-2) allowed two runs on six hits in 6.1 innings, but he took the loss after giving up the game-tying single to Roskam in the seventh inning.

The win was Nebraska's fourth straight and its third straight over a ranked opponent.

Nebraska will return to action on Friday night when it hosts Indiana in the Big Ten opener.
