The Belmont Stakes is one of the most prestigious horse races in the world and is the final leg of the Triple Crown. The race is open to three-year-old Thoroughbreds and is run at a distance of 1 1/2 miles. The winner of the Belmont Stakes is awarded the Triple Crown trophy, which is given to the horse that wins the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, and Belmont Stakes.
