The American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) has announced the appointment of Brent Christensen as its new Director. Christensen, a seasoned diplomat with extensive experience in US-Taiwan relations, will lead the organization's efforts to strengthen and deepen ties between the two nations.

Christensen has a long history of working on US-Taiwan issues. He previously served as Deputy Director of AIT from 2016 to 2018 and as Director of the State Department's Office of Taiwan Coordination from 2018 to 2021.
